This new bridge, which will measure 72 metres in length, is hardly a superfluity as the entire yacht basin will be occupied by yachts for sale and charter this year. This means visitors can look forward to eyeing up a larger selection of more sizeable yachts. In fact, no fewer than 80 yachts will grace the Palma Superyacht Show, with nearly a fourth of all entries boasting lengths over 40m.
One of the largest yachts on display will be the 54m three-masted classic schooner SHENANDOAH of SARK, built in 1902. The impeccably maintained Shenandoah is not only the epitome of timeless elegance, but with her historic pedigree also a remarkable yacht to have at the show.
Another supersized yacht is the 52m TOMMY, for sale and charter with Moncada Yachts. TOMMY’s sophisticated interior is complemented by her superabundant deck areas and dazzling array of water toys. However, if screaming around on wave runners, water skies and wake boards doesn’t tickle your fancy, you could also float around in her jellyfish pool or practice your golf swing by hitting biodegradable golf balls filled with fish feed into the water.
Palma Superyacht Show to reduce its plastic footprint
Something which also ends up in the ocean, not to mention its fish, is quite the opposite of biodegradable: plastic. Did you know that one million plastic bottles are bought around the planet every minute and that 8 million metric tons of plastic enter our waters annually? The Palma Superyacht Show are aware of the crisis connected with plastic pollution and are pleased to announce this years’ collaboration with local non-profit CleanWave. Their mission is straightforward: to reduce the use of single-serve plastic bottles on the Balearics. CleanWave will not only be on-site to offer inspiration and strategies but will be manning a monster-sized water-station, allowing visitors and participants to fill up their reusable bottles free of charge. Those who have not brought their own bottle can purchase CleanWave’s sleek stainless-steel version for 16,50. What’s more, there are currently more than 40 other refill points around the island where you can top up your bottle, for free
85 charter, brokerage, service and equipment companies
Our growing number of superyachts is matched by a larger amount of exhibitors than ever before. No fewer than 85 brokerage, service and equipment companies will be present to highlight their tailor-made services and cutting-edge technological enhancements. Although the majority is made up of ‘veteran’ participants, some, such as SOS Yachting, are brand new to the show. SOS Yachting, an international company with offices in Palma de Mallorca, Viareggio, Nice and Rijeka, offer a comprehensive list of services, including those related to obtaining a Spanish Charter License.
